A pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a speeding bus in Garia.
The accident took place in Netaji Nagar area on Wednesday morning. The pedestrian killed by the bus is 60 years old. The unidentified man was rescued in a bloody state and taken to MR Bangur Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Netaji Nagar police have already seized the bus. The bus driver and conductor have been absconding since the accident. According to locals, the accident was due to reckless speed. Further details are awaited.
